Frequently Asked Questions About Scheduling and Payment
What payment methods do you accept?
Online Zelle payments, cash, or check are accepted forms of payment. If further options are needed, feel free to reach out and discuss these individual payment needs prior to your initial appointment.
Do you accept insurance for speech therapy?
Pickett Up Speech is a Self-Pay service at this time, with a 'pay at time of service' policy. A Good Faith Estimate will be provided prior to services rendered.
Superbills can be provided upon request, with some insurance companies providing you partial or full reimbursement for services when superbill is submitted.
While Medicaid and other insurance coverage is not accepted at this time, and Medicaid does not allow superbill reimbursement, considerations can be made for altering schedule frequency based on client needs and resources.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a $15 cancellation fee.
What happens if I’m late for my appointment?
If you arrive late, I will do my best to accommodate you, but your session may be shortened to allow for any subsequent appointments. Timeliness is appreciated to ensure everyone fully benefits from their session.
What is your attendance policy?
At least 80% attendance (4 out of every 5 sessions attended) is expected, with Pickett Up Speech reserving the right to cancel future appointments and offer scheduled spot to another client if attendance does not improve after verbal and/or written warnings. This is to ensure adequate progress can be made. If your child does not attend therapy or does so infrequently, progress can be significantly slowed. Research shows short, frequent therapy sessions are more effective than longer or infrequent sessions. This policy also ensures that your spot is held and put to good use, as there are other clients awaiting an opening who are also in need of therapy.
